With the addition of the Batavia MuckDogs and the Auburn Doubledays, the PGCBl could become one of the more dominant collegiate summer leagues in the country. Each venue is ideal for collegiate summer baseball with a good fan base and stadiums well-suited for summer league play. PGCBL experienced management will run both teams and the 15-team 3-division setup will be great for travel budgets. The opportunity exists for natural rivalries within each division enhancing the fan experience.
The economics for teams in marginal minor league towns is far better playing in a good summer league. Each team will start the season with thousands of dollars in player fees ensuring solid financial footing each season. This is great for the communities and great for baseball.
